Transeo Board Members Hartmut Schneider and Albert Colomer i Espinet gave lecture on "Buyout Entrepreneurship and M&A: Key Drivers of Growth".
Every year, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC), the annual event put on by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), gathers thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers, ecosystem builders and other start-up champions from more than 170 countries to identify new ways of helping founders start and scale new ventures around the world.
This year’s GEC 2019 took place in Manama, Bahrain on April 15 - 18, 2019 with more than 3,000 participants. At the weeklong GEC, delegates make connections, gain insights, learn about new research, and leave ready to renew their programs, policy ideas or firm founder skills.
Transeo Board Members Hartmut Schneider and Albert Colomer I Espinet gave lecture on “Buyout Entrepreneurship and M&A: Key Drivers of Growth”. Transeo could set a good counterpoint on the one-sided focus of GEC mostly only on start-ups.
Buyout entrepreneurship is one of the ways to unleash the entrepreneurial potential of individuals but remains unknown in many countries. Hartmut Schneider from M & A Strategie GmbH, Germany emphasized that buying an existing company is a less risky alternative and brings many advantages (existing client base, staff and know-how). Research also shows that businesses that are taken over by a new entrepreneur deliver higher performance and innovation. Also, encouraging entrepreneurs to grow their business not only internally but also externally, i.e. by acquiring an existing firm should be more promoted to stimulate growth. Finally, business transfer helps to save jobs and keeps companies alive, even after the original owner leaves the company.
During that session, Transeo shared insights on buyout entrepreneurship and external growth by acquisition. Albert Colomer I Espinet presented various successful examples of business transfer as good practice from Reempresa from Spain.
