Pr Mirela Alpeza

Mirela Alpeza, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship Education at J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek where she teaches courses on Family Business and Business Transfer of SMEs. Since 2011, as the director of CEPOR – SMEs and Entrepreneurship Policy Centre in Zagreb she has been highlighting the issues of family businesses and business transfer and has launched a series of initiatives aimed at developing a support system for the transfer of business of small and medium enterprises in Croatia, including the Centre for Family Businesses and Business Transfer, the Family Business Week and Forum, the SME Buyers’ Club, and the Business Transfer Barometer – national survey on the topic of business transfer of small and medium enterprises in Croatia. She is the (co)author of publications “Business Transfer – Mini Guide for the Business Community” and “Challenges of Business Transfer in Small and Medium Enterprises”. She was leader of the TRANSEO working group on the topic of Business Transfer Ecosystem (2019-2020). She has hosted numerous workshops and consultations with business owners on retirement planning and defining the best business exit strategy and gave speeches at numerous conferences about this topic in Europe.
